"Street Outlaws" on Discovery Channel
Anyone see this series yet? It's about street racing in Oklahoma.
I would think if something goes wrong and someone gets hurt that the Discovery Channel would have some liability. The premise of the show is the mysterious "Top Ten" list and those trying to "move up" the list. The races are labeled "Highly Illegal" and held on out of the way sections of highway. This stuff is wrong on many levels. The worst to me is promoting street racing on a nation wide venue. On the other hand I once lived in a small town where there was absolutely NOTHING to do except this sort of stuff so on that I kinda get it.

Re: "Street Outlaws" on Discovery Channel
I haven't seen it but will take a look.
When were young and dumb ( early 70s St Paul, MPLS area ) we had a 1/4 mile marked off just a few miles from my house in the country. Many 100s of races over several years time produced lots of fun with no mishaps. Then a rash if incidents occurred and it wasn't long before the police started showing up so we posted lookouts. By 1975 we were done and luckily nobody died or were seriously hurt. The starting line area remained tire marked for years afterwards as a reminder of the good times we shared !

Re: "Street Outlaws" on Discovery Channel
At the end of one of the episodes their #6 guy "Flip" had an RIP
message about him. hmmmmm He was shown beating the #7 guy (Chuck ?) who challenged him. The "Flip" guy was driving a 750hp El Camino. There was no mishap shown so I wonder what happened?
