I know I have posted it before, but I do not think that this really proves the Corsa 2.5 is the best system or 2.5 inch is ideal.....it just says that the 2.5 Corsa can outflow a 3" system with a choked muffler...like the B&B has

GM used a 3" exhaust on their race cars.....the jig for the 3" system still exists.....

Bingo,Lee you hit the nail right on the head.

I found that to be true after having removed the resonator and replaced it w the SW X-pipe. In comparing the last run prior to and the first run after the swap, the dyno results were nearly identical. However, the AFR clearly was shifted to the lean side which them needed to be compensated for. Once that was done, we ended up w an additional 15rwhp w the Xpipe. But just slapping something on there won't make much diff. Now we'll get an idea of what diff if any the Dynomax muff make. Again, I expect that to require some tuning. In fact, if there's no change required in the tune, then the Dynos don't really make any difference.
Another BINGO.

Dom, it looks very nice Al did a better job on yours then mine,i will complain to the manager

Thanks again. It sounds like you have the best of both worlds and you guys in FBI have come up with the best performance exhaust system for our cars. Can't wait to hear it. Congrats! I appreciate the info about the tuning required with the X pipe and will do that too even if it will cost quite a bit here, it will be worth it.

I am also curious to know why Flowmaster mufflers were not part of consideration?

question about the bolt / bracket welded to the muffler.. is it just welded flat to to muffler, or drilled and inserted inside and welded... My concerns are ( and I could be wrong) but you know how sometimes when something is welded it has a tendency to rust in that area or since it is a stainless muffler does it need to be tig welded / or something special? ( I know stainless doesn't rust , so Is the bolt stainless ? just curious on how it was installed...

Ron/Cliff,
Great question and thanks for sharing that photo. I know I had a hard time finding someone to weld with stainless when I was in Hawaii, I don't think any problem here. I wondered how to get the bracket on Dynomax 17228 if that is what I decide but I guess the pros will have to fab up something on install.

About the Dynomax 17519 (polished Ultra-flo, stamped and not welded). Don't bother as SCFM flow is 736 compared to the 1900 on the 17228. Just got off the phone with Dynomax tech.

Another thing I want to consider is Dynomax 17220 that is 3" inlet, 3" outlet (single) and SCFM flow is 1800. The guy claims the sound is more agressive than 17228 because it does not split into two and just goes straight through. It make sense, but I also see that flow is 100 SCFM more that might not matter for a 350. According to Dynomax specs 17228 is rated to 864 HP in a single exhaust system and 17220 to 818 HP and the numbers double for a true dual exhaust system. Just curious and something I'm pondering since 3" single to dual offers some nice tips. Thoughts?

not sure maybe this was discussed but would be interested to see if the flapper helps the low end torque.....run the car with the flapper opening with vac....and then wire open the flapper and look at difference
