Default My Saturday Projects

With fall and winter approaching, time to get some projects completed before putting ZR away before the snow flies. So here's what I did:

1. Oil and filter change
2. Installed my ZT-2 Wideband O2
3. Replaced shift tunnel rubber gasket. Old one was ripped and heat came
up from exhaust.
4. Removed oil pan stud to seal oil leak. I used Black RTV on the stud and
then used a Doty washer to provide an additional seal. So far the stud
is oil free. No more oil leaks. If this doesn't work, it'll be time to replace
pan gasket next year.
5. Made appt for tuning for WOT on 10.14 at Speed Inc dyno.

Huge difference. And likely contributed to the smelling of
oil altho I did have oil leaking. Now, no further oil smell at WOT.
One more project this weekend. Gotta grease up the poly bushings I installed on front shocks.

If possible, I'll try to get by on the 14th to see your pulls.

My "to do" list includes:

Pulling the cluster and replacing the tach resistor and filter cap (as needed) to restore accuracy (reading 20% high)
Maybe replacing the heater core... ... NOT looking forward to that one.
Installing the new carpet on the door panels - to finish off that chore (new carpet...looks great!)

Marc bumped the rev limit to 7600 (in prep for Sunday's festivities!) and bumped the IAC on deceleration to see if that would cure the annoying stalling.

As expected, it was leaving a lot of raw meat on the table with the limiter set at the stock 7200. Now I'll be able to shift according to performance rather than avoidance (of hitting the limiter, which was frustrating a good bit of performance).

The occasional stalling...was reduced (by hanging the high idle a bit longer), but the stalling is not entirely cured. The IAC "fix" seems to address the symptom and not so much the root cause. (Which leads me to another project: Find out why my stupid computer will not "see" my scanner anymore and get that resolved so maybe I can see what the heck is going on on decel!)
