Default Coolant pipe question

I was talking to Mark Horner and he mentioned that I had some strange coolant pipes on my 91 Z. Now me being a newbie to the lt5 what makes them so strange?

nothing other then the early cars had that boss area on the top.

I have later model ones and they don't have the boss on them
