Re: Northstar ZR1 (Here we go!)
Heck drop a LS engine in the car. Go faster cheaper and much lighter.

Re: Northstar ZR1 (Here we go!)
The one thing I "would" do, if it was affordable, is to drop in an LS9 new ZR1 motor. Even modify the hood for the window. Now THAT would be cool......and fast!

Re: Northstar ZR1 (Here we go!)
The later cars with abs and the CCM have trouble talking to the LSx controllers... I think you have to live dangerously without the ABS and piggy back the speedo signal and some other things by retaining the original ecm to bridge the gap to the CCM for the gauges.
And then, You might have to use a Camaro LSx ecm without stability control, - old fashioned throttle by wire, and a stand-alone custom harness (which wouldn't pass engine swap muster in a strict state like California). I wish there was a kit, but the C4 market is kind of weak for the aftermarket. an LS3 would be the ideal amount of power. |

Google Speartech Harness. John SPEARS IS ONLY 10 minutes from me. He wired an LS for me in a 54. He is pretty tough at this stuff.

lsx is your best bet if you want to do something odd ball....but i don't see why you'd do it to a zr-1

Re: Northstar ZR1 (Here we go!)
It's a $3500 ZR1. Who cares at this point? I have two more to make correct.
When I find the right LT5 for the right price, I'll buy it. In the meantime, I'll paint this one and let it sit in the corner with a cover on it.
