Default wipers just stopped

Got some new wipers but they are too high so get stuck under the hood once they have been parked. WAs messing about filing down the wiper tops and the ridge on the underside of the hood, when the wipers suddenly stopped working. The fuse (no. 22) is still intact. Any ideas what might have happened?
I have just had the rear bumper painted. Not bad eh?
greetings from sunny Spain, Dick

I hate to say this, but if the fuse is okay, the FSM says it's the wiper motor &/or it's circuit board. The binding of the blades could have overloaded the motor.

You need the Electrical manual section of the FSM ( Section 8A ) to run the diagnostic chart. The FSM says the most probable cause for no wiper function at all is the circuit board on the motor.

There's a circuit breaker in the wiper motor module according to the wiring diagram. I don't know if it would reset on it's own, or needs manully reset.
Did you try it in high? Is it stuck in park or some where else?

I had one that would not work after it was off for a long time, it would start working from turning it on and give it a push at the same time, probably a dead spot in the motor.

If you verify power and ground getting to the wiper unit, I'd start malotizing the wiper unit(gently of course), I've found electical/electronics seem to like that sometimes. If that doesn't work, take it apart and check it out, might have something easy to see is blown.
