Default Header Coating

I've got a set of Watson headers that are currently coated with some black stuff (possibly just hi-temp paint). Does anyone know where I can get them ceramic coated? I'm looking for someone 'local' - i.e. Ontario.

Thanks in advance

Dave

Hi Dave,

I was looking around for coating places and found this one. I don't know how close they are to you?

There was another company I found in Canada, Afterburner Performance Coatings. I just tried to get a link from my favorites to post but there seems to be an issue with their web site.

Dave - I've heard that the Canuks just use tar for their coatings

Thanks Tom. The Swaintech place isn't too far but it's still cross-border, which I was hoping to avoid. I tried googling the Afterburner place but like you get the site unavailable message.

Bob - we only use tar to coat our igloos

Dave, I far from an expert on this coating stuff. I was doing research awhile back and ran across some car mag articles that mentioned the Afterburner guys. The write ups had hard number comparisons on before & after using their coatings on headers & turbos. The temp drop was dramatic. I went to their site & they had it up front, a coating can be functional or it can be decorative...not both. They seemed to be the deal.

The only reason I didn't try to do business with them was that I knew nothing about shipping stuff out of the country.

Sounds good Tom. I'll try giving them a call, see if they're still operating. Perhaps its just the website having problems.
