OK. The correct answer for cylinder select on the Raptor is #4 which is the one Paul showed me on his. I may not have had the dipswitch completely locked in place when I did it the last time.
I set the rpm down at about 2700 so I could blip motor and see if light came on at right rpm. So the dipswitches should be: 1- ON, 2-OFF, 3- OFF which is 4 Pulses/Revolution. http://www.raptorperformance.com/Tec...S%20_revF_.pdf This also gave me an opportunity to view tach v shift light differential. At 2700rpm on shift light, I saw 2500rpm on tach or a 7.4% variance. Assuming the light is more accurate, then at 7000rpm shift light, tach would be reading 6500rpm. On the other hand the Harlan was coming on at a lower rpm than actually set for, ie thought I was shifting at 7200rpm but actually shifting at 6700. |

which cylinder setting did you use on the Harlan Shift light?
I think it should be set for a 4 Cylinder

http://www.harlan-engineering.com/st...structions.pdf I'm assuming you had it set for 8 because of the distributor. But the inaccuracy of the light was not by a factor of 2. Light indicating 7400 while dyno rpm reading 6800 or so. That's why I thought it was legitimate. In fact, we bumped the shift light rpm setting to 8000 and it still read below dyno tach. |
