As said above, depending on goals you may need multiple products. Using the Dynamat brand as an example...

Dynamt Xtreme will reduce rattles/vibrations.

Dynamat DynaPad will reduce heat and road noise.


While many of us do, you don't need to cover the entire interior with Dynamat Xtreme (or similar other brand product) to get a reduction of vibration. Some people just place squares of it in various places and even if an uncovered spot vibrates the nearby squares will absorb it. I'm guilty though as I have my 87's interior covered in it. Haven't reassembled yet to see how it did.
