A few parts for my next engine
Howdy, guys. Thought I would share some pictures as the pieces are slowing arriving for my spare LT5 buildup. The induction system is out being ported as we speak. I know my limitations...I'll let an expert build the bottom end and assemble the motor, but I need the market to turn around first to free up more capital!
Carrillo tapered H-beam rods. Stock rods weigh close to 750g, Olivers are around 650g. These are around 550g. The 4.00" Bryant crank has 2.00" journals. Custom ATI super damper. Yes, it took over 2 months after the drawings were approved. The three pieces are the damper, pulley, and crank hub. It is about 20% lighter altogether than the OEM piece. And last the mechanical buckets.... about half the weight of the GM hydraulics. Still not entirely decided to go this direction. Need to decide this spring before I order cams. The small pieces are the shims for lash clearance adjustment. I forgot to snap pics of the new springs and Ti retainers. Will try to get that later. Todd |
