Default Re: Clutch Safety Switch

Steve,

I had this issue when I first got the car. I jumpered the switch having had the "pleasure" of replacing this switch once before. I was younger then and pretty sure my joints would snap if I tried that again. Absolutely need to remove seat.
Frankly, in 3 years I have not had any issue altho I am in total agreement on the safety issue. Nobody drives my car other than me and sometimes my son. However, I am always in the car. My routine, regardless, has ALWAYS a been to put the Trans in NEUTRAL, depress clutch, THEN turn key. I've thought of a little plaque somewhere on the steering wheel warning of clutch switch INOP. Maybe even a little "pre-flight" checklist.
I will say it's convenient to be able to start motor without sitting down in seat when doing any work or diagnostics.
