Re: FS: 1990 ZR-1 Part Out, Lots of Misc Parts

How about an engine oil dipstick? Mine has an incorrect one.

Re: Another AC question

I read your original post just fine, but I will admit I don't understand why you say the compressor is running when a DTC code is present, since that shouldn't be happening, which as I mentioned...

Re: Rear shock replacement, what else do I need?

Well Bilstein doesn't have the correct bushings, so I guess it's either new poly, or hope the originals are still OK...

Re: Another AC question

They do strange things sometimes.
Last year I was prepping our 2005 Bentley for a family trip, and the A/C had been a little underwhelming, so I got one of the typical auto parts store cans and...

Re: Another AC question

Yes, I did read that, which is why I responded as I did.

The light should only flash for 1min, so that behavior is normal.

But per the FSM the compressor shouldn?t be cycling on at all if a...

Re: Rear shock replacement, what else do I need?

Thanks for the thoughts. I found an old thread on CorvetteForum where someone was able to get the OE bushings direct from Bilstein so I've just messaged them to see if that's still possible.

Re: Another AC question

My understanding is that when you get the code, it should not be trying to run the compressor, and if the compressor's not running, I think the pressures won't mean much.

If you're sure the...

Rear shock replacement, what else do I need?

Just ordered the rear FX3 shocks from Rock Auto (they got down to $191 each so seemed like time to do it)

While I eventually want to do a full suspension rebuild, I'm currently planning to just...

Re: New ZR1 Hagerty Video

Jason's earlier video on the C4 ZR-1 was great too. I got to talk to him at Amelia for a few minutes. He was a big fan of my 40th Anniversary!

Re: AC recharge

Yes, problem with those is there's no room to get it on the low side port. Not sure about other years but on 93 the low port is on the drier, facing the engine...

Re: AC recharge

Yeah, I'd like to just do that, but since it seems to have a valve leak, I'm guessing it's going to lose its charge when I fix that, and require a full recharge.

OReilly's appears to have...

Re: AC recharge

Well I think I've mostly answered my own questions.

FSM says 16oz of R12, and online search says R134=R12*.9-.25lb, so .65lb or 10.4oz..

And I see there is something about bypassing the safety...

AC recharge

Over the winter my HVAC started giving me the code for low refrigerant.

It?s getting warm here now so I?m starting to look at this. When I take the cap off the low side port it sprays at me, so...

Re: Priming Oil System?

I have been seeing something making the rounds about using a "fog clear" mode apparently if you put the gas pedal all the way to the floor and start, it will turn over but not fire? I see it...

Need more noise, but got no money

Had my 93 ZR-1 for about 6 months now, enjoyed my first trip a couple weeks ago (about 1k miles round trip), and I think so far my only disappointment with the car is that it's just way too quiet! ...

Nylon drain plug washer?

Just curious, as I'm doing my first oil change on my 93 ZR-1 and removing the plug was surprised to see a very old, cracked white plastic washer.

My car has 64,000 miles and according to the...

40th Anniversary VINs

Just curious on this, I stumbled across this thread from 2009 that lists 243 VINS for 40th anniversary cars, but I've always seen that there were 245 40A cars...
Anyone know the other 2?...
