One of the synchros was blown on the car. Like I said, they cannibalized another ZF for the job. Perhaps it would have been easier with an outside source but the Corvette techs here are pretty...

The manager told me they had to rebuild the transmission by buying another ZF and cannibalizing the parts. That work alone cost several thousand dollars... The timing of the rebuild makes me wonder...

I chose a '90 Z because of the same reason. Even though there are more '90 Zs, they are different. That, and since my dad's owned an '84 for decades, I grew up with that design and liked it a lot.
