Shift Light
I have been thinking about installing a shift light. Don't know too much about them :dontknow: and the ones that I have run accross come with a tachometer. Don't think I need the tach but would like just a light. Any ideas?? Also, anything about mounting areas and if they are a difficult installation. Thanks:thumbsup:

Re: Shift Light
I dont know much about them but I saw an led shift light on the CF last night in the for sale section from a vendor. It looks like it can be preset for a specific user.

Re: Shift Light
I have an Autometer standalone shift light that has multiple LEDs & digital display for RPM's. The base uses a nice ball & socket type system for adjustment. Its programmable & has progressive shift lighting. They are really nice and easy to instal. I highly recommend it, especially if your oem tach is no longer what it used to be. I mounted mine dead in front of my face on the steering column. Auto meter makes a couple different versions, some fancier, some cheaper. I think the $$ one has datalogging function or something. You may want to look into it. "Digital Shift Light" from Autometer.

Where is the best place to pick up the engine rpm signal for one of these?

Re: Shift Light
thought to throw this into the mix . i have a G-Tech pro rr it has a built in shift light that works off the cig lighter. don t have to hook any wires .plus once you get it dialed in gives you the ability to down load your runs onto the computor . you can learn alot about your runs with the supporting software, ie wheel spin starting line rpms shift rpms etc . it helps you adjust leave rpms and shift rpms for your best et . i found that i was shifting at too high an rpms . i short shift 1-2@6200 (no wheel spin) and shift 2-3 at 6900 and 3 -4 at 6500 by doing this i knocked .35 off my et .plus as a bonus you have a drag strip 24/7. it is accurate to within .05 on et and .75 on the mph
