Name that Screw!

I think the screw pictured below is called a 'rocker panel upper screw'. The pic is from my '92 ZR-1. Can anyone verify or, better, provide a part number, or, even better, let me know where I can pick some up. Thanks!

Email Polo-1 (Kevin) he had a bucket of bolts left over from his last car part out.

That is not a factory bolt. They never had marking like that. Plus you can see the outline of the original washer that is attached to the factory bolt. Supposed to be a 10mm head with a fine thread.

That's not good news, as the car was sold to me as an 'all-original' unmolested car. I just had it evaluated by a well-regarded corvette expert who appears on this site's list of recommended ZR-1 repair shops (he took the pic) and he concurred that it appeared to be correct, except for a replaced power antenna motor, which we knew about, and a possibly a replaced fuel filter. He noted that two screws were missing from the driver's side rocker panel.

Thanks for the posts.

Can you post a larger picture of the area. I should have some spares.

I'll check when I get home. No lift or floor jack (yet), so I'm not sure if I'll be successful. Off topic, but do you have any recommendations on a good jack?

Thanks.

You'll need the lowest profile jack that you can find. A standard floor jack will not fit under the front airdam.

Below are more pics and a shot from the service manual. I probably named the screw incorrectly. There are six fasteners per panel. Screws #4 and #5 are identical to 1,2, and 3. #6 (front-most screw) is missing.

K, change of plan. Initially I thought you were in the wheel house looking for a bolt.

The screw is a 7mm head, course thread and about 3/4" in length. Currently not able to locate a part number.

I know Polo-1 has some of these as i removed the rockers. He'll just have to dig through a bucket of bolts.

Great! Thanks for all your help. I'll email Polo-1 directly.
