Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
I've been all over the web, and for whatever reason I can't seem to get an answer as to how much refrigerant (R12) my 91 ZR-1 will hold. I've checked the various stickers under the hood, none of them show a Freon capacity.

Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
Have you checked your FSM? Pretty sure it's in there.
Mine is a '90, but I'll look in my book when I have a few minutes. |
Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
My FSM is tucked away in the attic with the other top to the car. I need to just go get the ladder and bring the FSM down - it doesn't do any good to anyone up in the rafters.

Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
Sorry for the delay in getting back.
My '90 FSM shows 2.25 lbs of R-12. |
Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
Bringing up an old thread. So for my '90, it is 2.25 pounds of R12. Does that convert straight across for R-134? I'm wondering since the R-134 is less efficient if it needs more or the same amount?

Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
Only 2lbs for R-134a.

Typically R-134a is about 75-80% of the R12 fill. reason the later cars are at 2lbs vs 2.25 is the added capacity of the parallel flow condenser vs the tube and fin condenser |

Sorry I know this is an old thread. So if one is converting their 1990 ZR1 to R134a the charge should be between 27 oz. and 28.8 oz., correct? Do you know what the proper high side and low side pressures should be? Thank you. |
Re: Freon capacity for 91 ZR-1?
Yes that is correct..
