fuel pump replacement
is it really as easy as it looks?
after consulting the procedure on this site, it seems pretty straight forward.. is there anything tricky i should be aware of? |
Re: fuel pump replacement
Mechanically yes it is if it were not for actually getting the sender + pumps out of the filler neck. Once it's out the pump swap is cake. Going back in can be a bit testy, just like getting the assembly out. It takes a bit of patience so you don't force it out or in.
Oh, watch the gas from the return line too, and don't forget to use your pressure gauge to relieve the pressure on the feed line. Oh, new socks too!  Tom |

Re: fuel pump replacement
The hardest part is figuring out how to finagle the assembly as it is moved through the opening of the tank. It has to be inserted 90 degrees to the left, then straightened to its proper position, when reinstalling.
