Coolant leak, Water pump?

My -90 ZR1 is leaking coolant. It comes a little by little from middle. There is coolant under car and today Low coolant light come on. Course it come from middle and my hoses and radiator are changed years ago. I think maybe its water pump.

Is ZR1 water pump different than others and how much it usually cost?

Need to get this fixed ASAP.

Mika,
Some of the guys have gotten water pumps from NAPA and Corvette Central and used them sucessfully. If I recall correctly, they are in the neighborhood of $200.00. I have not personally used those pumps.

If you are not able to find one that can be shipped to you, I have one (1) OE pump left for sale, but it is more expensive than those i mentioned. Please see the JerrysGaskets.com website if you are interested.

The usual suspect is the pump shaft seal. The pump is ZR-1 specfic and can be pricey depending on where you get it. I chagned mine a year ago and paid about $150.00 for a NOS pump. Check Corvette Central, they have AC Delco pumps for the ZR-1. Make sure it comes with a gasket.

150USD doesnt sound bad at all. I have seen 400USD at Ebay etc.

I think pump is orginal and car has now 126 000km.

Before you replace the pump. Check to make sure all the bolts are tight. The pumps are aluminum and tend to loosen over time. You just never know you might get lucky.

Mika I had to replace my water pump also on my 90. Mine started out as a small leak and toward the end it turned into a raging flood gushing out. Check with a mirror to see if coolant is leaking out of the hole on the underside of the pump.

I am at Corvette service now. New pump cost 480 euros :(

Good that they have Pump and I got time so fast. But it's very expensive :(

I guess it's original part. Don't know how there is so big difference at Prizes.
