Silicone hoses. Mishimoto - or- Samco

I used mishimoto hoses on my 99' FRC and was impressed with quality & fit. The lettering was easily removed with acetone and some elbow grease.

I'm doing a full cooling and 134a A/C redo on my 91' this winter and am in the process of shelving parts for the process. Jerry is out of stock and the back order is TBD.

Anyone fit the Mishimoto silicone hoses to an LT5?

Another option you may have is Marc Haibeck. He should still be offering the traditional coolant hoses that look like factory pieces. That is unless you?re looking for the unique finish silicone hoses have. I?m curious about your conversion as my system is leaking and I most likely need to convert over as well this winter.

You can find SAMCO hoses from various sources. Ref the part number in your search.

I use hoses from SAMCO and never had any issues.

Good to hear. I'm a "do it once" kind of guy.

If I'm spending that much, I'll go silicone.

I'm pulling all my R12 gear out and replacing with R134a "while I'm in there". I used up all my R12 on my NCRS 91' ZR-1, I'll post up a thread of current part#'s once I can verify fit and function.n ( basically a 93-95 system). Its the evap core I'm not looking forward to.

2kracing no longer carries samco. I called them 20 minutes ago.
I found two more vendors online, both had the ZR-1 kit listed "discontinued".
These may be unobtanium now.

I have used Mishimoto silicone hoses on both my ZR-1's and they performed flawlessly.

I used the factory hose clamps to secure everything.

Good luck.

Samco hose kits are made to order. The typical time at present is around 10-12 weeks.

SAMCO are made in the UK. You probably have to contact one of their distributors and special order like SAM/CH ZR-1 said. Damn, a lot of parts are becoming unobtanium. I hope my set lasts until I sell the car.

Hopefully Jerry is finding a source to make these in the US.

Sure they can be found at Corvettes at Carlisle next week. All kinds of gems show up. Two years ago a guy came to our tent and said he sold his ZR-1 years before and now was cleaning out the garage and came across a great batch of spares....all NOS...water pump, plug wires, hoses, alternator, starter etc. Our Wazoo group could have built a new car!
Just another reason to come to the show. Plus Mark from Mirrock will have a booth and always has gems set aside for us.

I am expecting the silicone hose sets any day, but no specific date. It?s a 4-6 month delivery time & I placed the order in Jan.
So, we WILL have them available again and hopefully pretty soon.

Good to hear Jerry will get his long backordered hoses soon.

If anyone is looking for a complete set of BLUE Samco hoses. 2KRacing DOES have 1 set of those in stock but NO other colors.
