Totally agree! Besides a UTE would also suggest AWD.

we all know gm well enough to know they won't build two different frames for a corvette

So the C7 is the last front engine Vette then. If McLaren and Ferrari can build cars profitably at low numbers, GM can use its economic
muscle to do the same. Guys, I think GM sees what Porsche has done w the expansion of its line, and the Corvette brand has a similar potential. That's where this is headed.

As for the Nose clip it is from a Commodore.

Dom, They would lose a huge Market share if they went to just 150K+ supercars. How many people would go over to Dodge and Ford that could only afford a 75K dollar car.

They could probably sell more of those Holden El Camino's than $200k Corvettes. Ford and GM both shuttering their assembly lines in Australia this year or next...I wonder if the Commodore/ute/police Caprice/SS line will move somewhere else or if it is an end of a product line?

Corvette has economy of scale and a dedicated assembly plant- I wonder how many Ford GT's they can crank out? I would think any super vette would be cheaper than a GT at least.

Robert,

Ferrari is a brand, McLaren and Porsche are brands. What does GM have? If Porsche can expand from the 911 to 4-5 vehicles including SUV, why couldn't Corvette be a brand? And if you are going to play w the big guys, you need to show you are on the technological edge. At the end of the day, that says mid-engine. But that doesn't preclude GM from having a front engine car as Ferrari does with the FF, or the California. The Daytona of the 70's is very much sought after.
Do you ever see Chevrolet anywhere on the car? Nope.
