Default Q for you bore n stoke boyz

I've never understood the balancing act between the crank and the piston/rods. For example: Changing to lighter piston/rod configuration does what to the crank/piston-rod balance? Showing my ignorance (again) I always thought the counter balances on the crank considered the piston-rod weights too, and changing the piston-rod weight would upset the balance...NO?

Yes It does change the ballance , but the counter weightsare not 1to1 ratio . It is a percentage of the piston & rod weights .

This would put the crank into an 'Over-balance' situation. Would need to take weight out of the counterweight(s) to compensate.

It's all part of that "Magic" stuff that most all of know about but we take for granted because we have no idea how it's done.
