It seems sometimes like the newer Corvette folks don't pay much respect to the 'vettes that got them there. But here is a neat press release that summarizes the Corvette's competition history and pays some nice compliments to the cars that came before. I stumbled across it and figured other people might enjoy it too:

That's definitely a nice read. It's hard to comprehend how successful the C5-R and C6-R programs have been. What's not hard to comprehend is why all the rest of the competition ran away!

What most people don't realize is the C5R program, they got beat by the Oreca Vipers on a consistant basis. Corvette Racing then worked harder to become faster and more reliable in every aspect. All the marketing money allowed from GM goes into the race program.
