Greetings from Europe!

Grats on your site which is a great source of information on these cars, especially for a complete ZR1 beginner as myself. I do not own one yet but it is a very interesting machine and high on my list. Well, top on my short list.

I have been gathering some information about these cars and everything seem to just desire it more. The fact that these cars are 12...17 years old makes me consider parts availability. Especially as I noticed that some of the parts no longer are available.

I saw that Eckler's carry water pumps but do any supplier still have oil pumps for ZR1? Are some other crucial items no longer available?

Welcome to the ZR-1 Net Registry. I know the feeling, the more I researched the ZR-1, the more I wanted one. (Even after I bought a nice LT4 Collector Edition). I bought my ZR-1 back in May 2007.

My feeling on parts availability is:

1. Most parts on the CAR are standard C-4 and are reasonably available.

2. Most engine parts are available from multiple sources, a lot of which are seen here on the registry.

3. If there are a few parts that are not "available" thru normal vendors, there are many individuals here on the registry that would make sure you can find what you need. I have met some of these guys and I know they are dedicated to the ZR-1 and the LT-5.

After watching the ZR-1 forums (there are several good ones) for quite a while now, I have NEVER seen a thread where a parts problem stopped someone from getting their car going again.

Good luck!

Jim

Welcome to the forum.

On the oil pump the early 90-92 pumps are NLA, but you can remove the guts from a 93-95 pump and be back up and running again with no issues.

I beleive that Billy Kirchoffer is rebuilding the early pumps.

Thank you gentlemen for welcoming words and info. I'm not letting a measly NLA oil pump put my plans down.

I'm quite unfamiliar with online auto sites as I've been toying with bikes for the past 15 or so years. Are there online sites where you can get price and availability for say a GM part number in a snap?
