Default Dyno Numbers

A few years ago instead of destroying the original dyno numbers on all of the LT5 engines Mercruiser donated them to the NCM. I understood them to be available to the owners when the data was cataloged. Does anyone know the status of this? Rumor has it there were legal issues.

I believe the LT5 dyno data did belong and still belongs to GM, not Mercruiser. Unless the status has changed, GM's last position was to not release. I can't imagine why GM even gave the data to the NCM if the museum couldn't do anything with it.

They let the NCM store them for free. A no cost decision by GM and maybe not a smart decision by NCM.
