Hi Chris, I am running OBX headers. If you look around, you may be able to find a random speed shop trying to unload them for cheaper. I got my set for $450. I then sent them to Swaintech for their white lightning coating for about $350. It insulates them and helps keep the exhaust flow at a higher speed. The primary reason I got them coated was the bare stainless in the engine bay cooking everything didn?t sit well with me. I have seen pics on here of people running bare stainless headers but I wanted a little extra piece of mind.
Also, if you are not running EGR like the later ZR-1 models, there is an EGR tube on the passenger set that will need to be plugged or welded. I opted to cut it off, grind it smooth and had a local welder plug the hole. I will not say they are the greatest headers ever for an LT5, but I am pleased with them and they are weight reduction and dramatic relief on the restriction of the factory manifolds. My humble opinion is to buy American. Sorry I?m against China making copies of a US header manufacturer and selling in the US with no manufacturing laws to comply with. I don?t know if they tried to copy Stainless Works design or not, but let?s help keep the jobs in America. SW gives ZR-1 Registry members a huge discount so let?s help to keep them in business. Yes, you can spend way less, but I hate how they copy even Corsa (but they can?t replicate) their exhaust systems. The extra price is worth it and you can feel good about it.
