4 hours left, and up to $49K. Yes, silly low miles, but still nice to see the numbers going upwards.

not sure 49K is big money, but regardless this is a good example of why you don't "invest" in cars LOL.
Those 96 miles were enjoyed at a depreciation price of $110/mile plus an amortized price for taxes, registration and insurance of at least another $300/mile (assuming one did those sort of things for this garage queen). No car was ever engineered to sit still. Get out and drive 'em! |

The undercarriage killed the value of this car. Lots of rust made it look like was stored near the beach.

This. If you want to make money there are far better investments than a car. Just enjoy the damn things for what they are... high performance cars. |

If someone were tracking all of our C4 ZR-1s, I wonder if 3 categories would best explain the status of these cars:
- Destroyed - Due to accident, flood, etc. - Currently on the road and being driven - Zero mile cars that will never see the road (like the 96 mile example in this auction) At the rate that the currently driven cars are used, will they become more rare then the stored away never to be driven cars? I wonder what the relative proportion is for each of the three groups. |

As the first two groups increase, so will the restoration efforts. No need to restore when you could buy an older "new" one for peanuts, but those days are coming to a close. ![]() Marty |
