Moving axle shaft
I had my 90 ZR-1 on jack stands. When checking movement of the rear wheels, I discover the left axle shaft will move in and out of the differential housing 1/4" or so. Also around the seal is oil leaking. The mileage is around 29k, so I doubt it is worn yoke. Do you have any experience with that?

Re: Moving axle shaft
Looking at the workshop manual, the correct end play is 0.0005" minimum to 0.0085" maximum. Snap rings for the Dana 44 are specified from 0.050" up to 0.110". A possible reason for your excessive side movement may be a broken / dislodged snap ring. With excessive axle shaft movement, the seal may be compromised and leak.
