Question Any differences 90`s Bose Radio between Zr-1 and standard C4?

Hi guys,

are there any differences in the bose radio units (cd with tape version) that were installed in 1990 ZR-1s and standard 1990 C4s?
I guess not because on pictures the systems look equal, but Im not sure.

Reason why Im asking:
In my 90 ZR-1 I`ve got an aftermarket radio installed (it came already with this aftermarket radio) but I want to go back to an original bose radio unit which I had to buy second hand.
So I wonder if I have to pay attention to any restrictions regarding the C4 model.

One more question: does somebody know the part number of the bose radio unit that would fit into a 90 ZR-1?

Thanks in advance!
TNR

Nope, they’re the same. Just like the standard C4 they are year specific. I believe 90 & 91 are the same.

I believe Dr. Don in Texas sells reconditioned units and have him install his aux input option so you can plug in your phone or a XM radio. I have mine hidden in the center console so everything looks stock and you have outstanding sound. One problem was changing stations, you always had to open the console which got old real quick. Problem solved by putting an RF repeater hidden in the air vent (next to my shift light) and now just point the remote control at the vent to change channels. Works great.
