Everything I have seen says Dot 5 should not be used in antilock brake systems so it should not be used in your ZR-1. The GM hydraulic clutch system fluid is not standard brake fluid, it has some additional lubrication additives to keep the clutch master and slave cylinders from squeaking.

I use the GM fluid in the clutch system. I have used Castrol, Wagner, and probably another brand or two over the 13 years I have had my ZR1. I believe there are some brake fluid recommendations in the maintenance area of this website.
