Who makes a good pad that will work for street and occasional track use?

Porterfield Enterprises pads with the R4-S compound are a great choice for high-performance street and occasional track driving.

![]() ![]() I'm on my second set, fresh off the Rocky Mountain Run (last summer) and MR6 (Appalachian mts). I experienced ZERO fading in spite of braking hard enough entering some corners to activate the ABS. I've not done any full-out HPDE track events, which is another level entirely. So, I can't comment on that. However, Mark Horner and some others here also do track events and are much better at answering specific questions RE: brake pads for the track. Anybody here tried the PORTERFIELD pads? A comparison between the Hawk HPS and the Porterfield would be of interest for sure. Thanks to Hib for bringing these PORTERFIELD pads to our attention! ![]() Last edited by Paul Workman; 04-29-2019 at 10:29 AM. |

Thanks for the recommendations. Mark recommended the Carbotech XP-8s . I watched a video they did on all their pads. They say the XP-8s are for the track only and don't recommend them for daily driving. I don't want to have to switch out pads before doing a HPDE. He did also recommend the Hawk pads.
