I see that my 93 was equipped with CA Emissions, I thought that this reduced the cars power a bit for emissions sake. Is it possible to remove what was installed or is it worth the trouble.

just go with headers and a new exhaust system and make it well worth the trouble

Nothing to remove. Cars ordered with CA emissions had certification of passing their smog test. All were CA compliant, these just needed the certification to say so and an extra $150 I think.
