Backup Light Switch
I've searched but I can't find the answer. Does the switch have a washer on it?
I placed a jumper wire across the plug and the lights came on. I also tried to test the switch but don't know if how I went about it was correct. I set my meter to ohms and when I pushed the ball in it read different amounts depending on how far you pushed the ball in. If i barely pushed it in it would read 9 or so ohms the farther in the plunger went the less ohms. I tried oiling the switch but it still didn't work. I though if it was reading ohms it was good but what do I know. Help! Thanks

The switch does not have a washer and does not need sealer.
Your resistance measurements indicate that the switch is defective. It should snap to one ohm or less consistently. |

I don't have the OE style switch. GM discontinued them long ago. This was the GM PN. 10159402. Eckler's has the version with the connector on wires.
