Finally have possession of a black/black 1990 from SoCal, now in Hudson Valley, NY. Car has 11k miles and is great! I sold a 1993 Mustang Cobra to purchase this car and it is definitely a completely different and superior driving experience, especially on mountain roads.
I changed the headlight motors, put Nitto G2s on (thanks for recommendations on this board), and have to take the radio/amps out for repair. I'd love to leave the front without a license plate, but the car will be roaming in an over-policed area and a cop is sure to bust chops if I don't eventually mount it. Tried searching but didn't find - is there a kit or way to mount without drilling? Currently there is a black painted "Corvette" filler piece in the plate area, which looks original. Thanks, Mike |

Bought rebuilt headlight motors from Atlantic Corvette Parts on ebay, I'd recommend the guy. Good price at $85 and come with warranty, parts came fast via priority mail, case is nicely bead blasted and repainted.
Headlights failed during state inspection so was a good alternative to rebuilding myself. http://stores.ebay.com/atlanticcorvetteparts/ |

the filler plate has 2 screws to remove it and that should expose the mounting for a front plate

I moved to Florida to avoid running front plates and live and work in VA. Yes. I have been paying Fairfax County, VA property tax (for road usage I am told). ![]() |

The screws Jeff is referring to are under the front you will have to get low to see the, if I remember they are torx 15?.... You can also add back a clear cover to retain the bumper couture.

One thing about California, the police do not have time to write a ticket for no plate.

Not sure about NY, but in MN if you get collector plates you don't need to mount a front plate.
