I would never encourage redlining anything on the street, but certainly suggest owners redlining their LT5s- often. What's important is that you enjoy what you are doing, be damned what others think. Yes, that even includes the guys who trailer their cars everywhere. But not the guys who trailer their cars to the hotel, then show their cars in the driven classes. That just triggered an off topic story that I'll share. One of the most satisfying occurrences that the car had, was at a national judged event involved one of these cheaters. The guy was at a local hotel with his truck/trailer and show car. He backed the car out of the trailer, then drove 3 miles to the car show. At the show I notice that his "trailered car" was in my "driven car class". A little sleazey in my book, but he did drive his car the entire 3 miles to the show, even though the car probably didn't even have time to warm up. Anyway, during the awards ceremony I won my class and beat his car by a solid 100 points as these shows are judged out of 1000 points. I think the guy just about soiled his shorts when my car was called out for the shows "longest drive award". IIRC that show was over 1600 miles away. Anyhoo, its your car enjoy it. |
