Which color combo is correct for the 1990 rear bumper..

Black lettering with silver background surround?

or Silver lettering with the Black background?

Oh yeah.. for a Black car

I have some pics around of the Black 90 I had and they are Black lettering with silver background surround. Also have an NOS emblem # 10146448 never installed it is the same.

Your GM# 10146448 would be correct for '90 and '91 code 41 black cars. '92+ cars had different part #'s and the colors reversed silver ZR-1 on black with the red "bow-tie".

My black '90 looks just like the one Steve posted. Black lettering, silver background, red bowtie.

currently I matched the 'CORVETTE' to the ZR-1 emblem that came on the car
