Default Merc 4 valve heads for LS motors

http://www.hotrod.com/events/mercury...-at-sema-2014/

anyone have more info on this or good POC info for Gary Kline

I'm of course "all in" on this one and I love it!

sure they will be out of my budget but if I sell a kidney, find a job, sell the farm, ect...

they flow 400 cfm or so out of the box and can handle 8k rpms

I'm starting to think MM doesn't even have a running prototype yet.

They are scaled down versions of the QC4V design adapted to LSx platform.
Having visited the Mercury Marine Racing facility, I have no doubt they'll work.
The question is whether there is a sufficient market for them. But just imagine having a 4V DOHC alternative for the C4 chassis utilizing LSx engine management.

GM brass outsource the LT-5 engine to Mercury/Lotus, pissed off the GM techies driving them to build the LSX motors, now Mercury sticks it back at them with another DOHC package...and this time doubles the insult using GMs own block.

Ok some liberties taken...but still kind of funny

Lee,

Mercury did exactly what was the initial intent of the ZR-1 program before Lotus outlined the LT-5. Sweet justice.
I think one of the things we forget is that MMR has long used GM blocks for many of their motors. We saw BBC stacked inside MMR.
