Default inspection pointers for new member?

Help! I have been a member of your club for several years- but just joined the Forum. I have several Vettes including a newer ZR1. Am almost ready to pull the trigger and buy a 1991 to add to my collection. Can you experienced members point me to a previous thread or other resource for inspection pointers for a used C4 ZR1? The car I am looking at has 26,000 miles on it, and looks nice--but I don't want to find an expensive problem after purchase if I can identify it beforehand. Thanks in advance and -See you in Carlisle

I'm in pittsburgh and depending on where the car is I'd be willing to come take a look at it for you

Appreciate the offer- but the car is over near Reading, Pa. I plan to pull a car hauler over to inspect and , if satisfactory, haul it home for a good servicing.

Just be careful when looking over a low mileage car. These cars seem to not like to sit and can develop a lot of problems that can be expensive to fix...things like fuel pumps rusting and secondary actuators deteriorating. Make sure as you go over it that everything works. Some stuff is normal to any Vette of the same vintage, but some of the ZR-1 specific stuff can be very costly in comparison. The buyer's guide posted is a good one.

See ZR-1 inspection TIPS

Any modifications?
Any photos?
Any Parts replacements that you know of?

Do the following function?
AC
Air Fans
Radio/CD

Any check engine light at any time?
What engine oil you been using?
Any oil leaks?
Any coolant leaks?
Does the engine run cool or on hot side?
Oil pressure idling?
Oil pressure at 3,000 rpm hot?
Stock Exhaust?
Do you know if the secondaries function with power switch ON?
What is the time between vacuum pump cycling with ignition key on?

This list is what I look for in any inspection of a corvette for others. A good list to avoid finding issues later.
In addition my first test always is a compression test which takes 15 minutes.
I also listen to the engine at all rpms making sure the engine idles around 850 rpm like it should.
