My daily driver has perfect rectangle of ice around it from me not moving it months ago when I blew the driveway out, so the snow melted a touch then froze solid. I dont even have to steer, teh truck falls into its spot.
My little chihuahua/miniature Pincer mix hates this weather. Even with a sweater on, her feet freeze less than 30 seconds and she starts to limp then I rescue her. SHe has become an expert in the quick Number One and Number Two elimination when she gets outside. If its really cold, I'll carry here to her "pee" spot, she hates her booties, and she kicks off teh socks with little grippies that I bought for her. The neighbour keeps his German Shephard outside in way too cold of conditions IMO. They have one of those plastic house things that farmers raise veal calves in, but the dog is always outside laying on a snow bank. -30°C isnt good IMO, I breath through my nose and it freezes. Any of guys know about dogs or German Shepards? How cold is too cold? Up here in Ontario we had teh coldest Feb. in 35 years. And in mid Feb it was the 5th time since 1973 that the Great Lakes were more than 80% frozen over. Go to this site and scroll down to the bottom and it has a time lapse of the past week or so. It looks like the Great Lakes are more than 80% covered right now. You know its cold when Lake Superior is frozen solid. Sorry folks, but climate change is a fact. Freeze us out in the Winter and make some parts of the USA unliveable in the Summer. Britain has classified Global Warming as a National Security threat. |

Our labs didn't mind the cold; their undercoat grows over time when they spend a time out of doors as it is getting cold. German shepherds are apparently similar:

The US military and insurance companies now take Climate Change into consideration as part of their strategic planning and developing actuarial tables. The lack of ice in the North Pole is a threat to the Panama Canal as a route to the Pacific year round. |

Mowed the lawn yesterday for the first time this year and grilled up some burgers.

It's what absolutely like the best about the NW, the early spring. You get the change of seasons (unlike the SW) and a bit of the really COLD like the North and Midwest without the humidity of the East and SE. AND there is no baking hot like AZ to TX. Yup moderate temps with GREEN all year round is what I like.
