Default The availability of replacement DIS units

Hi

Availability of replacement DIS modules/units for the ZR1 LT5 motor.

I originally posted this issue on the General Postings and it seems to have gained traction so I think it belongs on the technical posting due to the nature of the potential problem.

Perhaps others can weigh in and share their thought on this important problem that could potentially affect us all in the future.

Thanks

Don,

I think if you do a search you'll find there has been substantial discussion on this topic. Right now I'd say we are at a standstill until we can a different ECM or IM. Ron Hanselman has been working w MegaSquirt but I don't know where LSx coil adaptation stands w that. Jep is working on using the LSx 411 ECM and has built a 24 tooth reluctor wheel trigger that would mount on the crank snout.

Until then buy a spare during a part out. At this point its the only way forward. Jep is the only one working on a workaround project at the moment that I am aware of as well.

Fellows if I find a bad DIS....I got the man that can give a shot at repairing. Wonder if anyone has the electrical prints and requirements for this thing. What would be awesome is the entire project requirement documentation that would have been sent to Motorola!

Now I know one of you fellows has that thing stored away in a binder somewhere!
