Look at those camsprockets, those would have to help with chain durability.

That is Mercury Racings 1650hp version of the 1350hp 4 valve DOHC, TT-I/C marine engine which runs of 112 octane racing fuel. GM was dropping and has dropped the BBC engine, so Merc had to strike out on its own.
It has many improvements over the LT5 such as roller cam followers. I so wish that the OBD2 version of the LT5 got to see production.
