Im getting the "service ride control" light on my 92 ZR-1 and I noticed the front right shock acutator thingy is loose. The drivers side it tight, so I was trying to figure out if this should be loose or tight? If it should be tight could that set off the light?
Then, how do I tighten it. I looked at it, then tried to read the shop manual, then looked at it again and I cant figure it out. Any help? |

There should be a metal "C" clip that secures the actuator on to the shock.
The actuator meshes with a plastic gear on top of the shock shaft. Maybe you lost the clip? Ted |

ok I pulled the clip off, and removed the black acutator. The nut that holds the lower cup on was loose. I tightened it and put it back together.
I did not get a chance to start it or drive it, but could this be what set off the light? Thanks |

Also, the grounding pins are A to C for the SRC. A to K is for the air bag. |

What is the trick to torquing it? I cant get the right compination of swivels and extentions on it.
What did you use? |

The nut is right on top of the shaft. It should only take a socket and
torque wrench to tighten it. Swivels? |
