Speaking of 'Thanking a Soldier'...
Dad was Green Beret; commanded and XO'd at least 3 A-Camps in RVN in early & mid-60's. I never knew that, before Taps 06/09. He was amongst the baddest of the bad, and stayed over there for many, MANY years total. He was even run out by '70, having been there so long (family life didn't give him the same thrill as combat, but that's another story... )
I just found more stuff about him - specifically, that an NVA weapon captured by my dad's unit in 1966, IS ON PERMANENT DISPLAY ONLY '90 MILES AWAY!!! More here... any other vets of RVN on the boards? (Thanks to all of you who ARE vets of Armed Forces of USA ) Last edited by Schrade; 01-25-2013 at 12:19 AM. |
