I got a set of Lee's emblems and they loom great. Very nicely done. I just have a few questions for any of you who have installed them.
1. Which is for the left and which is for the right? 2. How in the world do you get 23 year old adhesive off the engine without scratching what is left of the paint? Thanks. And #1 is a joke. I got two lefts. |

I used a really small flat head screw driver to scrape the glue out once I popped the emblem off. I only had one left, the other was MIA when I got the car. The adhesive was dry enough that it came off rather easily.

razor blade, Maybe Goo gone. I cant remember what I used on mine but im sure a carefull hand and a razor blade was used.
Goo gone shouldn't hurt the cam cover but I don't know about possible stains.

I used a rubber mallet and a flat bladed wood carving tool. Slow and easy. Came off with only minor marks and adjectives. Didn't even hit my thumbs.

I dont think there is a left-right.As far as reattaching the new emblems I used a dab of black VHT valve cover sealant in the very center of the recess of the cam cover. You only want enough, just a small dab to keep from making a mess.

After you use goo gone use rubbing alcohol to clean up any residue.
Pimp sticks work great for cleaning hard to reach spaces. |
