Although Im going to run the Texas mile next year I wanted to see where my car would be in the ball park. A few facts about the car first. Its a 90 car #1931. Its got stock 3.45 gears. Has top end porting. Fidanza flywheel and Spec stage 3 + clutch kit. But no headers just stock exaust and cats with a borla. Makes 357rwhp 347ft lb torque. So this morning I go out to my favorite road. You guys know the one Lol! And I come to a complete stop. Zero out my odometer and just got the car rolling normally no drag strip type launch and nailed it. When the o.d went from .9 to 1.0 miles I was at 158mph. They both changed over at the same time twice. And that's with my headlights on. It was dark. So now I have an idea.
Speaking of the Texas mile I emailed Will Barrett last night and said since you own the baddest TT 385 ZR-1 on the planet aren't you the least bit curious to see what it would do in the mile. I said we need to go together and I'll video your run and MPH and post it on the registry. The whole ZR-1 community would love to see that. But he's a very busy man in the oil industry so the chances of that happening are slim. Paul Smith Dewy Slocom Bob Hall and Paul Denhert all ran the Texas mile years ago and until Robin ran his LPE 385 last year there haven't been any c4s running it. So chances are I'll be the only ZR-1 running next year. |

More like brisket. There's only one place that I trust to do that at. There's concrete barriers on the left and right sides of the toll road and a four mile stretch where nobody can come in or exit out. The only thing that could go wrong is if I do something stupid. I wouldn't do that anywhere else. 0-158 in a mile is over before you know it anyway. But the car did better than I thought it would. I was expecting maybe 152 or so.

Save it for the airstrip, lots safer, your 158 is about right for what you have

With gas prices at $4.00-$5.00 of course Will is busy. Counting all that cash is not easy you know your hands get tired fingers get dry and black, tell him i'll count the cash for him while he goes racing. LOL Pete

I don't even pay attention anymore to the price of gas. I just buy the crap. I have no choice.
