So how much better are the late LT5's over the early ones? I am looking for a drivetrain for a customers car and was wondering if it would be better to find a 1993-95 over the earlier ones. He wants reliability and aside from headers and a computer tune wont be hopping it up much over stock. Is the added price of a 1993-95 over the earlier ones worth the money in the long run?
Thanks Tom |

You are starting with 30 HP more with the 93-95....also if you are looking at a 90 model they may not have valve seals on the exhaust...so they naturally smoke alittle. Interms of reliability, they are about the same. But with headers and a tune you should be able to get some decent power out of the later model, they have slightly larger intake ports in the IHs as stock.
