Default My latest stupid question

Ok, I have a bellhousing, fw, clutch/pp,tob from a 91 car. I now have a blue label zf. Will this present any problem for me?

I am getting ready to rebuild the clutch, re-line the disk with different material , resurface the pp, clip the springs, etc. Before I go through the hassle I would like to know that it is not a waste of time.

TIA

so is it just the tob then, or the entire clutch assembly that I have to procure?

Not a problem, however you will need to buy a couple of things.
You will need the later style throwout bearing.
If the blue label is a '95 with a "CrashThrough" to reverse instead of a lift ring lockout you will need a new leather shifter cover.

I have a '95 blue label with "Crashthrough" reverse in my '90 and I love it.
It's much quieter than my original '90 black label.
If I hit the lottery I'll have the ZFDoc rebuild my original black label, otherwise it'll stay in the wooden shipping box in my storage shed.

Not to hijack your thread, Tod but I may a have a similar issue. I have a black label setup. I have the new S-640 input/gear shaft and all of the parts needed except for the throwout bearing and pilot bushing. Not sure what the correct parts are to purchase though.

Consider yourself lucky.
I had a 91 and 1st gear driving around a parking lot the tranny sounded like it had a few wallnuts inside. Apart from that I don't recall it being any noisier than my 94.

I had a blue-printed (by BB) Blue-Label in my 95 LT1 car, and it was soooo slick and smooth it was like butter. So, when I bought the 90 Z with it's Black Label trans, I noticed immediately the increase in gear noise and overall "truck like" feel, especially in first. I wasn't sure it was anything to be concerned about, so I had a couple of the Brotherhood check it out for me, and pronounce it "normal". I quit worrying about it, but I sure liked that blue-label. Maybe if BB went through my black label, it would be slicked up some. (I may need a 5th gear synchro anyway, so maybe I should send it off next winter? Hmmmm...)
