Caliper rebuild part numbers
I'm starting my winter projects a little early, and want to rebuild the calipers. I'm staying stock, and want to do the fronts first.
What part numbers should I be looking for? It seems like there are a few variations out there, and frankly, I don't know what I'm going to get when I place an order. Here's what I found so far: A/C Delco # 173-511 A/C Delco # 18H170 A/C Delco # 18H86 It looks like 173-511 has been replaced by 18H170, but Limey/White Racing lists both. From what I can tell on his website, part/kit 173-511 contains two piston seals, two boots, a bleeder screw cap, and a c-clip, where as 18H170 contains just two seals and two boots. The A/C Delco site shows 18H86 containing only one seal and one boot. The problem though is the pictures of 18H170 and 18H86 on the A/CD site show what appear to be different seals and boots. Here's the next problem. Since I want to add speed bleeders, it doesn't seem like I wolud need the bleeder screw cap. But where do I find a part number for the c-clip? NAPA wasn't much help, and I can't find anything online. Can someone point me in the right direction? Doc |

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
I've used the kits from Advance auto, front D352004(Wagner F117241, Bendix 66288). The clips do not come with them, they do show the clip online, but the price would be the same as the kit from AC delco with the clip and cap.

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
Exactly. I'm trying to find either the part number of the retaining clip or a rebuild kit that includes it. It seems like the A/C Delco kit is NLA. Any suggestions?

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
If AC delco is not around.....Advance auto show two clips, I don't know which it would be. Corvette Central shows the clips and pins, 194210, or just the clip, 194276. I don't know if the pins or clips could be different from the 12 to 13 inch brakes, but it says 88 to 96. Hope that helps.

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
If you havent bought pads and already know, pins and clips might also come with the pads, depending on brand.
Use the stock bleeder caps, with the loop, on the speed bleeders. They stay on and last. The flimsy ones you get with the speed bleeders I started missing within days. |

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
I'll be going with the usual Hawk HPS pads. Anyone know if they come with the above mentioned hardware?

Re: Caliper rebuild part numbers
HP plus and HT-10 do not. Also mustang cobra 94-00 uses the same pad, now I'm curious what hardware they use.
