I posted this over on the''other'' forum regarding replacing just the resonator with an ''X'' pipe. I also thought I'd incorporate an electric cutout(s) somewhere in the install. Any thoughts, experiences etc? Thanks |

Now, on mine I did the SW X-pipe and muffs only, and it sounds great at idle, but makes waaaay too much - attention getting - noise at heavy throttle (for me), and then there's that resonance issue. I doubt a cutout would do the trick (for me). One of the FBI guys, Phil(?) is using a pair of 3x18" chambered stainless muffs in place of the resonator. The claim is there is no resonance. Taking him at his word, I bought a couple ("Power Sticks") and we'll see how that works (once the machinist hatches an egg and finishes my valve job ![]() After hearing Pete n Bob's systems, I too am interested in a flapper. So, my exhaust is not welded anywhere yet - still a mix and match work in progress (SW headers n X pipe, MF twin tube muffs). Exhaust systems... ![]() P. Had a TriFlow exhaust I bought new. Drone wasn't terrible until I installed the x-pipe. Leave it alone.

Thanks guys. I think that is good advise about leaving it alone. Maybe I'll just sneak a couple of cutouts in the system instead.
