Question for those who had a bumper removed:
1. Is the "CORVETTE" enblem attached w/ sticky tape only or does this piece have speed nuts behind it? 2. The "ZR-1" emblem attched w/ sticky tape only or speed nut as well? 3. Are both pieces still available for 94 black? Yes, I am getting close to pulling the trigger on having the whole car refinished - bye, bye, GM acid rain etch, 16 years of minor damages and a recent incident with underground parking garage wall... ![]() |

Yun,
On my 90 the "Corvette" emblem has some locating pins that go thru holes in the cover but no speed nuts on the back, just the tape holds it on I guess. The ZR-1 bumper emblems that I've seen come with pins on the back & tape, but I never looked at the one on my car. If no one posts I'll go to my garage tonight & look up there to see what's up with the ZR-1 emblem. ![]() Tom

Thanks Tom.
I am hoping to figure out a way to avoid tape and come up with a way to remove and re-attach these pieces (I am doing so w/ hood and gas cap cover emblem and as for ZR-1 badges on the side of hood I figured out a way) so that during a wash and wax they can be removed resulting in much better result. When permanently attached, one always end up with minor scratches due to wash/dry and its imposiible to wax immediate area surrounding these emblems. |

I dont think they have the speed nuts and the studs might be too short to use any.

On my 1990's rear fascia the "CORVETTE" has speed nuts on it no tape. The ZR1 badge is stuck on with no speed nuts.
I think speed nuts should work. ![]() |

If I rember correct (I will check later) pin on the emblem has a small hole. After defeating sticky on the hood side, a large washer w/ a small bolt may work. Another method is to expoxy 2 bolts on the emblem and use nuts on the other side. |
