I got a ride in a 2010 ZR1 this past Tuesday. I just want to mention that it was FAST!! Older ZR1 owners will really need to step up on power to compete. The owner was swappig cars from house to shop. First car I rode in was a Ferarri 430 modena. ZR1 is way faster. For a car with warranty its pretty amazing.

Unlike C4 ZR-1 which had a completely different motor, namely LT5, current generation ZR1 in essence is a supercharged version of LS series.
Recently Callaway supercharged GS has been showing up at local shows driven by Callaway Marketing Manager. This version has a supercharged LS7 (you know the 7 liter in a Z06). Due to virtue of starting with a larger displacement and hp and torque, this particular Callaway GS ended up w/ 800 bhp if I remember correct. I imagine Callaway would be more than happy to sell you various combination of suspension and brake upgrades as well. He claimed all this could be done at lower price that ZR1 sticker. Throw in "Callaway" lable on top of all this, along with presumably lower production number, may be a smarter way to go relative to ZR1. Just my thoughts. IIRC, Chevy considered boosting the LS7, but decided against it because the bore size made the cylinder walls too weak to sustain the extra compression. Wonder how Callaway got around that. |

Woops!
Retraction. Callaway is blown LS3 at around ZR1 level. Supercharged LS7 belongs to one of local guy. I figured I would set the record straight. |

All the Callaway guys are pussies and will never push their car hard. Ever seen one at the drag strip? No need to warranty something that is never driven.
